One builder does the whole job, so nobody is waiting on anybody and there’s one person to ring. This is what you get, and it’s priced the same way on your quote.
Strip out and make good
- Protection through the house and the room stripped to the frame
- Old fixtures, tile and lining removed and carted away
- The floor opened up and looked at before anything is quoted as final
- Any soft timber or old patching replaced while it’s open
- Everything that hangs on a wall planned before the walls are closed up
The wet area
- Plumbing and electrical roughed in by licensed trades, with certificates
- The floor set to drain properly
- Certified waterproofing
- The finished waterproofing checked before a single tile goes down
Finishes and fit off
- Wall and floor tiling, with the layout drawn before the first sheet is cut
- Vanity, basin, toilet, bath and shower screen supplied or installed

Frameless keeps a small room open. A slim black frame picks up the window joinery in an older house.
Walls
Tile to a rail, paint above
Tiling to the ceiling can fight a room with a picture rail, so the tile often stops at a rail and paint carries the rest.
