Every bathroom is different, so we come out and see the space before we quote. These are the things that make the biggest difference to the price.

Whether the layout changes
Keeping the toilet, shower and vanity where they are is the biggest saving in any bathroom. Moving them means new plumbing, and often the floor and walls come up.

What’s behind the walls
Once the old bathroom is out we can see the frame. If everything’s sound, that’s a quick step. If something needs fixing, the best time to do it is while the walls are open, and we’ll talk it through with you before any extra work happens.

Tiles, tapware and a vanity range from simple to designer, and your choices make a real difference to the total. We’ll help you find the look you want at the budget you have.

An upstairs bathroom, or a long carry from the street, adds a little time to the job.

Anything structural
Moving a wall or a window has to be drawn up and passed by a private certifier before it can start. That is what holds a job up longest, so it is worth settling early. Your tiles and fittings can be chosen later, because they don’t affect sign off.

How we work
The same trusted trades on every job
We’ve used the same plumber, electrician and tiler for years. We don’t shop around for a cheaper price on your job, because we already know what their work looks like, so we know exactly what you’re getting.
We don’t upsell. If something in your bathroom is worth keeping, we’ll tell you, and if a change isn’t worth the money we’ll say that too.
Most of our work comes to us from people who have had us in their own house. That is the part we’re proudest of, and it is the reason we run the job the way we do.
While we’re there
Looking after the rest of your house
A bathroom renovation happens in the middle of a house you’re still living in. Most of what we do on site is about keeping the job inside the one room.
The room gets closed off
We screen the doorway before anything comes out, so the room is sealed off from the rest of the house for the whole job.
The dust goes straight outside
Where we’re cutting or grinding, we run a flexible duct out of the room and put the dust outside. Where we can’t, the tool itself gets a shroud over the head and a vacuum on it. The filter is a HEPA one, which is the grade that catches the fine stuff.
Your floors get covered
If we’re carrying material down a hallway with good timber floors, we talk to you about it first and lay protection over them. Board, old carpet or underlay, whatever suits the floor.
The old bathroom leaves in a skip
We order a skip for the job. The old room goes straight into it and off your property, instead of stacking up beside the house.

Frequently asked questions
Most bathroom renovations take a few weeks on site, depending on the size of the room and the work involved. We’ll give you a timeframe with your quote.
Usually not, if you have a second bathroom. If it’s your only one, we’ll plan the timing with you so it’s as easy as possible.
Yes. If you have drawings or a designer, bring them along. If you don’t, we’ll help you plan it.
We photograph it the day we find it and ring you, because most people are at work when we’re there. If we can’t get hold of you, the photos and a written description come through by email. Then we go through what it means and give you a price for it before any extra work happens.
There’s a deposit when you accept the quote. It covers your tiles and anything else we have to buy up front, and it locks your job in. The balance is due when the job’s finished. On a straightforward bathroom there’s nothing to pay in between.
We take a sample and send it off to be tested. If it comes back positive, a licensed removalist takes it away and disposes of it properly. We don’t guess at it and we don’t touch it ourselves.
We manage the whole job, and the building work is done by a licensed builder. Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing and tiling are done by our regular licensed trades, the same people we’ve worked with for years, so one team is responsible for your bathroom from start to finish.
